Mapping workshop in Suspa, Nepal, January 2020

Dr. Karen Seto, Dr. Sara Shneiderman, Dr. Mark Turin, and Meredith Reba traveled to the Dolakha region in late January of 2020 to conduct workshops focused on mapping urban settlement change and natural hazards (landslides, fires, and floods) with local residents in both Suspa and Charikot, Nepal.  The workshops aimed to combine top-down satellite imagery of the region with ground-up local insight to better understand and track changes in urban development and exposure to natural hazards in the region. For more details about this work see the full article in the Nepali Times.
